Ahead of Unpacked, Samsung launched a new Thermo Check app for Galaxy Watch devices. Using it, Galaxy Watch users can easily measure the temperature of their surroundings. The app will first debut with Galaxy Watch 6, and then the rollout will begin for Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 series.

Samsung says the new Thermo Check app lets users easily measure the temperature from meals they are about to eat to water they are about to swim in, all without any physical contact required. Additionally, the company announced upgrades for Samsung Wallet and WhatsApp for One UI Watch.

An app called “Thermo Check: LifeTemperature” is already available on Google Play, which is developed by PARTRON Co., Ltd. The description reads Thermo Check app is an app that can be used with Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 or higher models and has a function to measure and record temperature.

Thermo Check: Thanks to the new Skin Temperature API — a part of Samsung’s Privileged Health software development kit (SDK) — partners can now take full advantage of the Galaxy Watch’s advanced infrared technology for temperature measurements.
