Apple asked Samsung and LG Display to develop a bezel-less OLED display for iPhone. To meet the demand of iPhone makers, both Korean display manufacturers to improve TFE and UPC camera technologies and secure antenna space.

According to TheElec, following Apple’s demand, Samsung and LG Display are found to be developing OLEDs that remove all front display bezels of the iPhone. The US tech giant wants to implement a bezel-less display while maintaining the iPhone’s flat display and angular design on the side.

As reported, Samsung offered its curved display panels, which Galaxy flagships also used. Meanwhile, Apple denied using curved panels due to distortion and magnification effect on the curved edges. In the future, the iPhone will have no bezels around the screen, even without cutout for camera and sensors.
