How long Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 will get Android and security updates

Today, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 alongside other gadgets. The company has also disclosed how long they will get new Android plus One UI upgrades and security patches.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 come with five years of security updates and four generations of Android OS upgrades so users can keep their devices longer.

As both models come preinstalled with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1, Samsung will offer major upgrades up to Android 17 and regular security patches until August 2028.

Samsung is committed to giving customers peace of mind with Samsung Care+, a support service for accidental damage, repairs and more. Customers can enjoy special discounts or free benefits during pre-order periods.

During the launch, the South Korean tech giant also revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are available for pre-order in select markets starting today, with general availability starting August 11.

Available colors of Galaxy Z Flip 5 are Mint, Graphite, Cream and Lavender, while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be available in Icy Blue, Phantom Black and Cream color options.
