At Unpacked, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with some notable refinements. This year’s foldable phones use new Flex Hinge technology, which helps them fold flat. Meanwhile, the company apparently has big plans for the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Samsung could have tested the Galaxy Z Fold 5 prototype with a wider cover screen ratio and integrated S Pen. Since this year’s product doesn’t bring both changes, Samsung’s R&D Campus in South Korea may have allowed users to have a look at the tested designs.

Among them, X user @asbytofficial captured images of a Galaxy Z Fold, which brings a wider cover screen than the current foldables. In addition, the trial smartphone has an S Pen slot, similar to the recent Galaxy S Ultra and the iconic Galaxy Note phones.

These radical design changes may be applied to the next-gen Galaxy Z Fold, scheduled for launch in the second half of the next year.
