Samsung’s US shipments saw biggest decline, Apple continues to lead
Report carried out by Counterpoint Research says that the US smartphone market declined by 24 percent YoY in the second quarter of the year. For Samsung, it marks the third quarter in a row, recording a decline in shipments along with other Android makers including Motorola and TCL.
According to the info, Samsung’s shipments fell 37 percent, Motorola’s by 17 percent, and TCL-Alcatel’s by percent% in the US. Meanwhile, Apple’s shipments shrunk by just 6 percent despite the declining smartphone market, so expectations for the iPhone 15 series remain bullish, analysts say.
“Google was the only one that increased its shipments by 48%, although it didn’t have much, to begin with,” analysts at Counterpoint note.
Talking about rankings in the US smartphone market, Apple is leading the market with a 55 percent share, Samsung coming in second with 23 percent, and Motorola taking third place with a 9 percent market share in the second quarter of the year.
