Samsung partners with White House to launch cybersecurity labelling program

In mid-July, the White House auditorium served as the backdrop for a significant convergence of the tech sector and government to help better protect consumers. Samsung joined senior industry and government leaders in the US government’s announcement of the US Cyber Trust Mark program.

The US Cyber Trust Mark program will now be implemented by the FCC. The Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel indicated that she hopes a labeling system will be in place by 2024 so that US consumers will have a better understanding of cybersecurity strengths and weaknesses.

Samsung has been a longtime proponent of strengthening the IoT ecosystem. Ever since the company included security guidelines as a part of the “Works with SmartThings” program in 2018, it has championed voluntary cybersecurity labeling programs.
