Last year, Samsung announced to bring 4 generations of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches to Galaxy devices. Following Samsung’s lead in the Android portfolio, various manufacturers copied the software support, with Xiaomi becoming the latest to join.

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi recently launched the Redmi K60 Ultra, which comes with support for 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches. It’s just a replica (via xiaomiui) of what Samsung offers to its flagship and select mid-range Galaxy smartphones.

Xiaomi confirmed Redmi K60 Ultra is a China-exclusive product. However, the company will bring other models to the Global market as Xiaomi 13T series. The Redmi K60 and K60 Pro will debut outside China as Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, which could feature the same software support.
