Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 8 series of smartphones, which may include the Pixel 8, the Pixel 8 Pro, and the Pixel 8a. The Pixel 8a is expected to be a mid-range device that will debut at the Google I/O 2024 event. However, the launch date and other details of the phone are still unclear.

The Pixel 8a (codenamed Akita) has been spotted on Geekbench, which reveals some of its key specifications. The phone will run on an underclocked version of Tensor G3 chipset with Mali-G715 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM.

The smartphone will also come with Android 14 out of the box. It scored 1218 and 3175 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively.

We can take the Geekbench listing with a pinch of salt. There are also rumors that Google might ditch the Pixel 8a or discontinue the A-series altogether, depending on the sales of the Pixel 7a.
