Google Photos introduces backup feature for Locked Folder
Google Photos offers a feature known as Locked Folder, which enables users to hide some of their photos and videos from the main library and other applications. However, this feature did not support cloud backup until now, and users could lose their items if they changed their devices. But now you don’t have to worry as Google has come up with a solution.
The search giant is addressing this issue by introducing an option to back up the Locked Folder to the user’s Google Photos account. This will allow users to access their photos or videos on any device that has Google Photos installed, including the web, iOS, and Android platforms. Users can also opt to keep their items offline only if they wish.
Locked Folder functions in the same manner as before, except for the backup option. Users can still benefit from the privacy and security of having a separate space for their sensitive items that will not appear in their albums, searches, or memories.
Google is also updating the settings menu in Google Photos to make it more user-friendly. Instead of a long list of options, users will see six categories – Backup, Notifications, Preferences, Sharing, Apps & devices, and Privacy.
