Samsung Galaxy S21 getting 2 One UI 5.1.1 enhancements [Verizon US]

Samsung surprises Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra users in the US by releasing a new update, which brings two enhancements of One UI 5.1.1. The update is rolling out on the Verizon network for locked models.

One UI 5.1.1 is the latest update that enhances security and performance. It introduces some new features of Contacts and Messages for the Galaxy S21 series. You can now customize the call background for each contact by going to their Contact Details page, tapping on the three dots icon, and selecting Edit call background.

In addition, the update also installs the latest Android security patch released in August 2023 to improve system security.

This software update brings the latest One UI 5.1.1 enhancements, most up-to-date security patch and performance improvements.

Contacts

The Call Background menu has been moved to Contact Details.

  • Select a contact > Select the three dots (More options) > Select Edit call background to change the background of your contact.

Messages

  • When you share an image with the Samsung Messages app, the conversations and contacts tabs are now shown at the top for easy access.
