Email Verification: WhatsApp will give you another way to access your account

Phone number is the only way to join the WhatsApp Messenger. The platform allows you to log in to your WhatsApp account after verifying the phone number. However, WhatsApp is testing the Email Verification feature, which will give you another way to access your account.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.18.19 version update brings a new Email Verification screen. This addition allows users an additional way to access their WhatsApp account once their email address is confirmed.

It’s worth mentioning that the Email Verification feature will be optional, and your email should be automatically verified if you use your Google account to back up your chat history on Google Drive or have previously set up two-step verification.

With the latest build, WhatsApp’s Email Verification method made its first appearance on the Android app. Currently, it’s available on select accounts after updating the app to v2.23.181.9. In near future, the company will push a wider rollout of the feature with Stable update.
