Samsung will launch a Generative AI feature using “Bixby” in all home appliances next year. At IFA 2023 in Berlin, Germany, Miyoung Yoo, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Home Appliances Division, made this announcement.

Samsung plans to install TizenOS in all products to expand AI home appliances. Following the application of Tizen OS to large home appliances such as TVs, washing machines, and refrigerators, the company is developing and installing the lightweight Tizen RT for small home appliances.

In addition, the South Korean tech giant is developing an ultra-low power microprocessor unit (MPU).

All home appliances are equipped with Tizen and MPU to prepare for the introduction of generative AI services. Generative AI home appliances will first be introduced as a cloud voice-based service centered on Samsung’s AI platform, Bixby.

If the generative AI introduction work progresses as scheduled, Samsung Electronics home appliances are expected to apply and implement AI services not only to premium lineups such as Bespoke, but also to entry product lines.
