Google gives Android a 3D Makeover: New logo and Robot design

Google has unveiled a new 3D logo for its operating system, Android. The new logo is a part of Google’s attempt to “help connect Android to Google,” and it is a continuation of the previous rebranding in 2019.

The new logo adopts a capital letter “A” instead of the lowercase “a” previously used for Android. Google says this change gives the logo more weight to its appearance when placed next to Google’s logo.

The Android robot, or bugdroid, has also been revamped to have a more 3D and expressive appearance. It can now display different materials, colors, and accessories to adapt to different contexts and environments.

The bugdroid’s body has also been modified to a dome-shaped capsule, instead of having legs and a flat bottom. Google makes it more versatile and reliable across digital and real-life settings.

The new logo, 3D bugdroid, and brand identity will be implemented on Android devices and other platforms this year.
