Breaking: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may feature rounded corners

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra might have rounded corners probably inspired by the S21 Ultra. The phone’s launch is due in January next year, while a Samsung insider made a big claim regarding the design. It may be the biggest change in Ultra’s design in three generations.

IceUniverse claimed to have 100% accurate info that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is rounded (corners). It indicates that the phone would ditch the boxy design that debuted in the S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and S24 Ultra. The development hints at a major design overhaul in the next flagship.

The tipster quoted his recent X post, sharing the difficulty of using the S24 Ultra. Due to its sharp corners, single-handed use for a longer period becomes quite difficult. The phone’s corners hurt the palm, forcing the user to keep the phone aside or use a hand to carry and a second to operate.

We’ve heard a lot of times that the S25 Ultra will introduce a major design refresh. The frame might get significantly enhanced corners that won’t hurt the user’s palm. The Watch Ultra-like frame might be seen on the next Ultra smartphone as the camera rings.

The boxy design was previously seen in the Galaxy Note series. The Korean tech giant has discontinued its Note lineup and expanded the design language to Galaxy S’s Ultra model. Notably, the Galaxy S21 Ultra was the last S Ultra that had a rounded corners design.

Back in December 2022, the company hired Hubert Lee from Mercedes-Benz. He has been leading the MX Division’s design department which contains Galaxy phones, tablets, and smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch Ultra and Buds 3 are said to have been designed by Lee.
