Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro series is the first to debut 3nm smartphone chipset. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, equipped with a 4nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip has a better GPU compared to Apple’s new iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Galaxy S23 Ultra performs much better than iPhone 15 Pro Max in the 3DMark Wildlife Extreme test. The former starts at 3,886 points in the first run and drops to 2,794 points in the 20th run. Meanwhile, iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at 3,608 points in the first run and drops to 2,843 points in just the 2nd run.

The image shows that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s GPU performance dropped by 22% after just one run of the test. On the flip side, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s GPU performance dropped by 28% after 20 runs of the graphics test. This gradual decline ensures users won’t notice a sudden drop in performance during gaming.

Samsung will release the Galaxy S24 series next year, which will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor. It’s reported that select countries will get Exynos 2400 in their S24 and S24 Plus, while the S24 Ultra will solely use Snapdragon processor.
