Emoji reactions now live on Gmail
Gmail is introducing a new way to respond to emails with emoji reactions. You can choose from a variety of emojis to express your feelings and thoughts quickly for emails. Also, you can also see the reactions of other people in group emails, and tap on them to join.
To add an emoji reaction, you just need to tap the button at the bottom of an email. To remove it, tap Undo in the notification that appears after you send it. You can only undo it within a certain time period, which you can change on your computer.
Emoji reactions work best with Gmail addresses. If you send them to other email addresses, they might get a separate email with a link to see your reaction. This can also happen if they use an older version of Gmail, have Conversation view off, use a different email app, or use a work or school account.
There are some situations where emoji reactions won’t work, such as when you’re in BCC, when you’ve sent too many reactions to the same message, when a message is encrypted, or when the sender has a custom reply-to address.
Emoji reactions are rolling out gradually on Android, and will come to iOS and web soon.
