Gmail rolls out on Wear OS, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4/5/6 also eligible
Samsung Galaxy Watch users can now access their Gmail accounts on their smartwatches as Google has released the Gmail app for Wear OS devices. The app works on both Wear OS 3 and Wear OS 4.
The Gmail app lets you view your inbox, switch between multiple accounts, open and scroll through full emails, and refresh your inbox manually. You can also use a watch face complication that shows new emails on your wrist.
Wear OS 4 is a new version that Google and Samsung made together for Galaxy watches such as Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6. This latest version aims to improve smartwatches’ performance, battery life, and user experience.
To use the Gmail app on your Wear OS device, you need to download it from the Google Play Store on your watch. The Gmail app for Wear OS helps you to access your emails without using your phones. However, Apple Watch users do not have a Gmail app yet.
