Gboard removes Keyboard Height setting, adds Resize feature

Google has changed the way users can adjust Gboard size. Instead of having a “Keyboard height” setting with seven options, Gboard now lets users resize the keyboard by dragging the edges. This feature is called “Resize” and it is available in the Gboard toolbar.

The Keyboard height setting was removed in the latest Gboard beta version 13.4.08. Users who want to access it will have to use the Resize feature instead. This feature also allows users to move the keyboard higher or lower on the screen, and to create a gap between the space bar and the home bar.

The new feature is more visual and flexible than the old setting, and may not be very accurate or the same on different phones.  If you want to have the same size on all your phones, you may not like the new way.

Another feature that is returning to Gboard is Proofread, which was announced recently for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. This feature helps users correct spelling and grammar errors in their texts. It is also available in the Gboard toolbar.
