Recently, Samsung announced that it’s bringing mobile driver’s license and state IDs to Samsung Wallet in the US. Initially, Arizona and Iowa will offer a mobile version of its driver’s license to their residents.

US mobile driver’s license info is securely stored on Samsung Wallet while being completely controlled by license holder. This service will be available for residents through Samsung Wallet in Arizona and Iowa later this year.

The update expands the Samsung Wallet experience by adding a convenient and secure way to use state-issued IDs and driver’s licenses with a Galaxy smartphone, including the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.

In addition, Samsung will release a software development kit (SDK) in early 2024 so devs can integrate online age and ID information into their applications to help reduce fraud and friction with the verification process.
