Samsung is making changes in the camera functionality of its upcoming high-end flagship. Ditching the 10x optical zoom camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra reportedly brings a 5x optical camera. Well, this downgrade is likely to make videography lovers happy with a major improvement.

The new Galaxy S24 Ultra could come with a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, featuring wider aperture and bigger pixels. Thankfully, the company might offer seamless lens switching while recording video across all the cameras, even in the 4K 60fps mode.

While recording video in 4K 60fps, no Galaxy flagship has the capability to switch lenses between ultrawide, wide and telephoto. Meanwhile, the next year’s Galaxy S Ultra could bring a combination of an improved processor/ISP and a more capable telephoto camera.
