Future Galaxy Watch will feature Samsung’s advanced MicroLED display
In a recent development, Samsung disclosed that it’s considering expanding the application of advanced MicroLED display to smartwatches. This means future Galaxy Watch will bring the company’s advanced MicroLED display technology, rather than OLED.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the South Korean tech giant has started the development of a small-sized MicroLED display. Such types of panels will be used in signage and smartwatches in the future. Rumors also claim that there will be a new Galaxy Watch Ultra lineup.
Samsung Electronics is considering expanding the application of micro LED to small displays such as signage and smartwatches in the future.
At present, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch model uses OLED display technology. The advanced MicroLED tech is currently available on the company’s premium Smart TVs. However, Apple might also debut MicroLED on Apple Watch ahead of Samsung, as reported in the past.
