Samsung Galaxy Watch users report frustrating Gboard issue on Wear OS 4

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch models running Wear OS 4 have been facing a weird bug that affects the functionality of Gboard. Some users have reported that Gboard does not show up when they try to type on their watches, leaving them with a blank screen instead.

Gboard is not the default keyboard on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch models, but it is a popular alternative that offers better voice dictation and a QWERTY layout. However, the bug seems to prevent Gboard from working properly on some apps, such as Google Keep, Todoist, Samsung’s Reminder and Alarm apps, TickTick, and more.

The bug does not affect all Wear OS 4 devices, though. It appears specifically to the Galaxy Watch. Pixel Watch 2 owners have not reported any issues with Gboard on their watches.

It is not clear what causes the bug or how to fix it. Some users have suggested uninstalling and reinstalling Gboard, clearing its cache and data, or resetting the watch as possible solutions. However, these methods do not seem to work for everyone. Hopefully, Google and Samsung will address the bug soon and release an update that resolves it.
