Samsung unveils super-gap EV battery tech at Future Mobility Expo

Samsung SDI is participating in the “2023 Korea Future Mobility Expo” to exhibit various electric vehicle battery products. On the first day of the expo, Samsung demonstrated super-gap EV (electric vehicle) battery technologies in Daegu, reports PSNews.

At this year’s exhibition, Samsung SDI showcased a variety of electric vehicle battery products and technologies with “super gap technological competitiveness,” focusing on the PRiMX battery.

The next-gen lineup, including all-solid-state batteries and 46-pie cylindrical batteries, and premium battery products such as P6 (6th generation prismatic batteries) and P5 (5th generation prismatic batteries) were exhibited.

In addition, Samsung SDI showcased an all-solid-state battery roadmap ahead of mass production in 2027 and is currently working on securing mass-production technology by completing an all-solid-state battery pilot line.

“At this exhibition, Samsung SDI presented battery products to lead the future mobility market based on super-gap technological competitiveness and top quality,” said Michael Son, Vice President and Head of Strategic Marketing of Samsung SDI’s Medium and Large Battery Business Division.

Future Mobility Expo is an exhibition jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Daegu Metropolitan City, and in which over 200 companies related to mobility, including batteries and electric vehicles, participate.
