Earlier this month, Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone. The device comes pre-installed with Android 13-based One UI 5 software. However, there are clues that suggest Samsung might ship the Galaxy S23 FE with Android 14-based One UI 6 pre-installed in Europe.

According to the info, Samsung is testing the Galaxy S23 FE with Android 14-based One UI 6 in Europe. This confirms that the device will go official and bring the latest operating system. If it happens, it will be a big advantage for consumers in the European continent.

In case the company decides to ship the S23 FE with Android 14, it will be upgradable to Android 18. At the same time, the Galaxy S23 is eligible for major upgrades up to Android 17, totaling 4 of the promises. The latest Fan Edition is expected to go on sale in Europe by early next year.

It’s possible that Samsung might announce an additional year of OS upgrade to S23 FE owners in certain markets. GalaxyClub notes that the company offered the Android 7.0 update to Galaxy S5 Neo in Canada, which ended support on Android 6 in the Global market.

Samsung removed some icons from Good Lock’s NavStar

Samsung recently updated its NavStar Good Lock module, affecting users who enjoyed customizing navigation bar icons. Previously, users could select from a variety of icons for the Navigation Bar. However, with the latest update, certain icons have been removed from the selection, causing disappointment among users.

A user posted on the Samsung Community expressing disappointment that the update no longer supports his favorite icons, and fixes them on the screen like a photo on a gray background. The user also pointed out that the updated selection does not have the same shape options.

In response, a Samsung community moderator acknowledged this concern and explained that the new update had removed some of the NavStar icons. The removed icons will not return with the NavStar update and are no longer supported.
