Samsung to manufacture Tensor G4 for Pixel 9 series

Samsung will continue to manufacture the Tensor chipset for future Pixel phones. In a new report, it has been revealed that Tensor G4, Google’s next-gen Tensor chip that will power the Pixel 9 series, will be manufactured by Samsung Foundry’s 4LPP+ process.

According to a report, Tensor G4 codename Zuma Pro is confirmed. The codename suggests that the next-gen Tensor chip will be a refined version of the G3. Ripcurrent appears to be the code name for Tensor G3 development board, and like AP, Ripcurrent Pro is presumed to be Tensor G4 development board.

Previously, it was rumored that Google plans to manufacture a 2024 Tensor chip on the TSMC process. Looking at the circumstances of the failed attempt to produce Tensor G4 at TSMC, it was reasonable to regard Tensor G4 production at Samsung Foundry.
