Samsung could unveil ‘Infinite’ (XR device) alongside Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 6
Samsung could unveil its XR device (Infinite) at next year’s Unpacked alongside Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 6. A new report says that the company will first introduce the device in 2024, while production could begin in December next year, with an initial production quantity set at 30,000 units.
Additionally, Samsung Electronics announced on October 31 that it would provide Samsung Display with a patent license for OLEDoS (core tech for XR micro display). It is expected that there will be a fierce battle for leadership with Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta Quest in the XR device market.

The JoongAng report says that the reason Samsung set the initial quantity of XR device (project name Infinite) at 30,000 units appears to be to establish future production and marketing plans while observing the response to the product and the industry situation.
“Samsung plans to introduce XR devices at the Unpackd event in the second half of next year,” said an anonymous industry insider.
