Samsung Boss tours Cook Islands, Fiji to expand business, supports 2030 World Expo in Busan

Lee Jae-yong, Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics visited the Cook Islands. At this island nation in the South Pacific, Lee introduced the Samsung Social Responsibility program and asked for support for Busan hosting the 2030 World Expo.

Chairman Lee introduced Samsung’s global CRS program, ‘Samsung Solve for Tomorrow’, and requested support for hosting the World Expo in Busan. The company also signed an MOU with the Cook Islands Ministry of Education and plans to start the ‘Samsung Solve for Tomorrow’ project in 2024.

In addition, the PIF Summit (Pacific Islands Forum Summit) is being held in the Cook Islands in the South Pacific from November 6 to 11. Samsung Elec’s Chairman attended the PIF summit and participated in activities supporting the Busan Expo’s hosting.

Yesterday, The Fiji government announced that Prime Minister Sitibeni Rambuta met with Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Cho Seung-hwan and Samsung Elec’s Chairman Lee Jae-yong to discuss the partnership between the two countries.
