Samsung to foster 64-bit app adaption along with Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei
Samsung signed a proposal to promote 64-bit app architecture adoption in China. The company, along with Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei, Honor, and Meizu, will foster the 64-bit app architecture as part of promoting Google’s long-standing efforts of abandoning 32-bit apps.

On December 7, the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology’s Tel Terminal Laboratory jointly launched a joint working mechanism for the protection of minors.
At the meeting a group of 7 brands including Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei, Honor, and Meizu was organized to launch the “About Proposal to Promote the Adaptation of Mobile Smart Terminal Application Software to 64-bit Architecture.”
As per data released by Gold Label Alliance, 100% of the TOP100 applications in the OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and Lenovo app stores are adapted to 64-bit, and more than 98% of the TOP1000 applications are adapted to 64-bit – as of December 1, 2023.
