Apple hasn’t ordered Wi-Fi chips from MediaTek: Ming-Chi Kuo

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple has not ordered iPad Wi-Fi chips from Apple, which is rumored to begin shipping in 2024. MediaTek’s current Wi-Fi orders with Apple are mainly for devices with lower Wi-Fi specifications that require plug-in use.

Earlier, it was reported that MediaTek has won major Wi-Fi 7 orders from the world’s leading tablet brand, the Intel laptop platform, and major smartphone manufacturers. The company will catch up with rival Qualcomm and become one of the top three suppliers in the global Wi-Fi chip market.

The source of this rumor may be due to the market’s misunderstanding of MediaTek’s technical capabilities and market share. Although the company can provide high-quality Wi-Fi chips, it has not reached a relevant order with Apple.
