Gboard for Samsung Galaxy Tab devices get S Pen (stylus) input support
Gboard has added a new feature that allows users to write with their stylus and convert their handwriting to text. Google is now rolling out the stylus handwriting feature to Android tablets, which was first enabled in August. This feature is available for both Pixel and Samsung Tablets running Android 14.
Users can access the feature by going to Gboard settings and selecting “Write in text fields”. A tutorial will guide them through the various editing actions they can perform with their S-Pen (stylus), such as deleting, selecting, inserting, joining, and moving text.
In addition, users can also access a floating keyboard toolbar that provides shortcuts to settings, handwriting demo, clipboard, on-screen keyboard translation, and language picker.
The feature is designed to make writing on tablets more convenient as Gboard will automatically recognize and convert the handwriting to text as the user writes. It is an appealing feature to those who prefer writing with a S-Pen (stylus) over typing on a touchscreen.
