Samsung revisits strategy to boost OLEDoS (XR device) launch

Samsung has reportedly adjusted the micro display business within the group at the top management level, including the business support TF, and reflected it in regular personnel and organizational reorganization. The key point is that LEDOS is promoted by DS Division and OLEDoS is led by Samsung Display.

Following the organizational reorganization, Samsung Display will reduce the proportion of LEDOS research and focus on OLEDoS development and commercialization.

Considering that OLEDoS is about to be commercialized with the launch of Apple’s Vision Pro or Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm’s extended reality ( XR ) devices in the new year, the strategy is to focus first on those that can be commercialized quickly.

REDoS and OLEDoS are panels with a pixel size of tens of micrometers (㎛). Thousands of pixels are implemented on a small screen of about 1 inch, allowing you to see a clear screen even before your eyes. This display is suitable for extended reality (XR) devices such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
