Back in 2021, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 4, which ditched Tizen OS in favor of Google’s Wear OS. Since then, Google and Samsung’s partnership rapidly heightened for Wear OS. Meanwhile, it looks like Fossil is preparing to quit the Wear OS smartwatch market.

According to the report, various Reddit users have purportedly spoken to Fossil retail employees, who claim that the Gen 7 Wear OS smartwatches won’t be released. Launched back in September 2021, the Fossil Gen 6 was the last significant reveal by the company.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, following its mid-year launch strategy. These watches run the Wear OS 4.5-based One UI 5 Watch operating system along with some striking features such as Google Assistant support, which other Wear OS products lack.

Well, Fossil has not issued any statement regarding its future Wear OS plans. Therefore, the claims made by those employees can’t be verified. However, the company is running a fire sale of the Gen 6 Wellness Edition at price of $129 from $299, probably for clearing the stocks.
