Google Messages lets you pick your own bubble colors, but there’s a catch

Google Message has recently announced seven new features to enhance the user experience. These features include Photomoji, Voice Moods, Reaction Effects, Custom Bubbles, and more. However, not all of them are widely available yet, and some of them have certain limitations.

One of the new features is Custom Bubbles, which allows users to change the color and background of their chat bubbles and conversations. However, this feature is only available for RCS chats, and not for SMS/MMS chats.

This means that users who want to customize their bubbles need to have RCS enabled on their devices and communicate with other RCS users. Google has explained that this is because the bubble colors are synced between the sender and recipient in Messages.

Aside from this, the Screen Effects feature is also available for limited users. This feature adds colorful animations to the user’s messages based on certain keywords. Google Messages is also compatible with other messaging apps that use RCS, and Google hopes that more users will adopt RCS in the future.
