Samsung’s New Year Update Begins Rolling Out, Are You Ready?
Samsung has begun rolling out the January 2024 security update to Galaxy devices. In the initial phase, the company’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 started to grab the New Year update. Samsung will sequentially push the new firmware to more eligible Galaxies.
The South Korean tech giant has already updated the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 to the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 firmware. Meanwhile, this new patch update comes as a security booster firmware for the company’s 2022 foldable smartphones.

As usual, Samsung might release the patch details as soon as Google publishes the Android bulletin. Since Pixel phones are yet to grab the January patch, the Android security bulletin is due as well. We can expect details to go out by later this week by Samsung.
Samsung has to hold a mega Unpacked event this month in the US. The company will unveil the Galaxy AI-powered Galaxy S24 series, which will directly compete with Apple’s iPhone 15 and Google’s Pixel 8 lineup. One UI 6.1 version will also make its debut, making it worth waiting for the event.
