Recently, Samsung Display filed a trademark application for the word Ironflex with the Korean Intellectual Property Office. It looks like the very first hint at the new display technology, which might be used in Samsung’s next-generation foldable phones.

In the trademark application, Samsung mentioned that Ironflex is a “foldable OLED display panel” associated with “foldable smartphone.” Apart from this, the company has listed “foldable wearable video display monitor” and “foldable tablet computer” in which we may encounter Ironflex screens.

As the company mentioning various product categories where Ironflex could be used, the scope of this new OLED technology could outshine the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. A future folding tablet and AR/VR glasses can also benefit from the stronger screens.
