YouTube TV users can’t watch recordings without paying for Max

Some YouTube TV users are facing an issue due to which they cannot watch what they have recorded on some channels. YouTube TV asks them to pay for Max, another service with more shows and movies.

YouTube TV and Max work together, but not for everything. Users should be able to watch live or recorded channels without Max. The issue has been reported by a few users on Reddit just in the past week.

Some users on Reddit said that the problem is happening with channels like TBS, TNT, and Cartoon Network. YouTube TV attempts to play the Max show or movie, not the recorded show or movie. Google is aware of this YouTube TV issue and is working on it. However, there is no information on when the fix will be available.
