If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone and a Windows PC, you might soon be able to use your phone’s camera as a webcam on your computer. All thanks to a new feature that Samsung and Microsoft announced at CES 2024, which will be available through an update to the Link to Windows service.

The new feature will allow users to pair connect their Galaxy phones with their Windows and use the phone’s camera in any app that supports webcams, such as Microsoft Teams.

Users will be able to switch between the front and rear cameras of their phone with a single click and apply various effects such as background blur and auto-framing to enhance their video calls.

This powerful, portable webcam functionality enhances any camera experience so users can enjoy both high-quality smartphone visuals and unrestricted PC productivity at the same time.

The feature is expected to debut on the Galaxy Book 4 series. It will also be compatible with older Galaxy phones running Android 9 or higher. At this time, it is unclear when this feature will be available for other devices.
