Samsung Elec CEO discussed semiconductor cooperation with Germany’s Merck at CES 2024. The company’s CEO visited the Merck booth at CES 2024 and discussed cooperation in the semiconductor business with Merck’s top management.

CEO of Samsung Electronics visited the Merck booth at CES 2024 and met with Merck Electronics Chairman Kai Beckman, Senior Vice President Anand Nambia, and Merck Delivery Systems and Services (DS&S) business manager Catherine Day Cass.

The meeting attracted attention as all of Merck’s top executives showed up. Samsung Elec and Merck are understood to have discussed new ways to cooperate. Merck supplies electronic materials needed for semiconductor manufacturing to Samsung Electronics.

During the discussion at CES, Samsung Electronics reportedly shared its vision and plans with Merck on supply chain stabilization, and Merck shared its vision and plans with topics such as next-generation semiconductor cooperation.

Merck is also pursuing the DS&S business, which provides chemical supply equipment and special gas facility construction services to semiconductor manufacturers. Considering that the head of the DS&S business was present, cooperation between Samsung and Merck is also expected.
