Samsung seems to have mastered Galaxy’s system animation and fluency with One UI 6.1. While the official Galaxy S24 launch is happening on January 17th, we get to see possible One UI 6.1 animation and fluency in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, courtesy of a tipster’s cryptic X post.

Recently, UniverseIce posted a video clip through his X account, showcasing back-to-back app open and close animation, probably of One UI 6.1. Samsung is said to be testing the new software on Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it’s tough to believe it’s available on a consumer device.

You can watch the video below:

As you have seen in the video, the Galaxy S23 Ultra animation and system fluency functionalities are way better than what we have in One UI 6.0 iteration. The app icon elasticity is mesmerizing, at least over the 6.0 version, closing the gap with its biggest rival, Apple’s iOS.

The Galaxy S23 series recently received its first post-One UI 6 firmware update in China. The same source recently posted on his X handle, the arrival of December patch, with firmware weighing about 500 megabytes. It looks like China version of One UI 6 has improved animation with this recent release.

Ice earlier revealed that One UI 6.1 brings various animation and system fluency-related improvements over One UI 6.0. Keeping battery efficiency in mind, the company has mastered the animation along with equipping the One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI. Here’s what the tipster said:

  1. The animation frame rate has been improved again compared to One UI 6.0, which means that the animation will look smoother and more delicate.
  2. Removed the background blur effect, I think Samsung considered that it would increase power consumption.
  3. The background scaling animation is greatly improved, it becomes non-linear, and the wallpaper scales greatly, which is larger than iOS’s scaling, making the animation look very vivid.
  4. When the icon is scaled back to its original position, there is a more obvious elastic animation.
  5. Continuously open and close the app without any glitches. It is very stable and smooth.
  6. The change from One UI 6.0 to 6.1 is very great, and I believe you will soon realize what I said.
