Tizen OS is the brain behind Samsung’s Ballie AI companion
Tizen OS is installed in Samsung’s Ballie AI companion as well. Ballie is a new product that attracted a lot of attention when it was first introduced at CES 2024. Notably, Tizen OS has been mainly installed in TV and monitor products but has recently been installed in next-gen AI devices beyond home appliances.
Samsung Tizen OS goes beyond the existing simple connection between devices and connects a wide range of experiences between OS, services, and content. Since its introduction, TV has made a significant contribution to expanding the ecosystem beyond hardware to software.

In 2022, a full-screen home UI optimized for OTT consumption was introduced to enhance viewers’ content exploration experience, and in addition to media and art services, the “Gaming Hub” service for global gamers was also launched.
Samsung Tizen OS is installed in approximately 270 million Samsung smart TVs released as of the end of 2023, making it the industry’s largest single OS. It’s continuously being updated to provide new services from last year to products from five years ago.
