Samsung Display will begin production of Apple iPad OLED this week. The company is planning to begin production of LTPO TFT for Apple’s iPad 11-inch OLED this week. Displays are produced starting with TFT, which acts as a switch to turn OLED pixels on and off.

Before Samsung Display, LG Display had recently begun production of a type of TFT for the 13-inch iPad OLED. LG Display is also expected to begin producing 11-inch iPad OLED TFT around the same time as Samsung Display. Follow our socials → Google NewsTelegramX/TwitterFacebook | WhatsApp

The OLED iPad that Apple is releasing for the first time this year consists of two types: 13 inches and 11 inches. South Korea’s LG Display produces panels for both 13-inch and 11-inch models, and Samsung Display only produces one 11-inch model.

Samsung Display will begin producing iPad OLEDs, but production yield and manufacturing cost may be variables in the performance of Samsung and LG. This is Apple’s first mass production of iPad OLED, so the production yield is not yet stable.

Apple x OLED

Apple has plans to apply OLED to iPads this year and to MacBooks in the future. The recent slump in the IT industry and the rise in iPad prices due to the application of OLED are obstacles to Apple’s iPad business this year.

Among Apple products, IT products such as the iPad have lower consumer loyalty than the iPhone, so factors that offset the price increase due to the application of OLED are also needed.
