One UI 6.1 brings iPhone-style AOD lock screen wallpaper [Video]
Samsung is finally bringing a major upgrade to Galaxy’s Always On Display. Interstingly, AOD lock screen wallpaper, which Apple debuted with iPhones last year, is available in Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra – courtesy of One UI 6.1.
Raven on X posted his hands-on experience with Galaxy S24 Ultra. The user also shared a screenshot confirming the new feature’s availability. Inside the AOD settings in the Galaxy S24 series, you will encounter a new toggle letting you bring lock screen wallpaper to AOD.

Once enabled, the lock screen wallpaper will go dimmer and appear like always on display feature. Compared to the conventional AOD clock and elements, this will surely consume a bit more power. However, the enhanced battery life of the new devices makes it a great choice to try out.
In addition, there is another toggle – Erase Background, which makes the main subject only visible in the photo. However, this toggle has been grayed out in the video clip posted by Raven on X, probably due to the application of live wallpaper rather than a constant image.
You now have an option to set the lock screen wallpaper as an always on display, exactly like an iPhone 👀 pic.twitter.com/3CflYN7EnD
