January 2024 Unpacked is underway and Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy S24 series with One UI 6.1. The new software iteration is based on the Android 14 operating system but brings major improvements over the One UI 6.1 version.

Samsung confirmed that it will be bringing the Galaxy AI experience to select Galaxy devices by the first half of the year. It’s expected that the One UI 6.1 will first roll out to create the base for AI-powered features, and then the Galaxy AI will arrive on supported models after H2 Unpacked.

As shown by Samsung, the One UI 6.1 introduces better animations and system fluency on the Galaxy S24 series. The company may have made algorithmic improvements to provide a better user experience. Meanwhile, all changes and features might not be expanded to older models via firmware update.

At the Unpacked, Samsung showcased some of the best One UI 6.1 features including Live Translate, Chat Assist, enhanced Android Auto, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Circle to Search, upgraded Nightography capabilities, Galaxy AI editing tools, Edit Suggestion and Instant Slow-mo.
