Samsung’s new One UI 6.1 software has various AI-powered tools. In particular, the new Photo Editor is fueled with One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI (generative AI) capabilities.

In a recent development, MKBHD posted a short video flaunting the Galaxy S24’s AI-powered editing feature. One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI-based Photo Editor allows you to move object and fill out the vacant space with generative AI.

As you can see in the video, Marques picked a picture of a basketball player to showcase the Photo Editor features. He simply selected the area of the object and then performed press and hold to easily move the object.

The generative AI takes some time to do all this magic. It first moves the object without vanishing quality and parallelly fills out the space vacated due to the movement of the object. And finally, the magic happens!

Galaxy AI is coming to older Galaxies

The company revealed some of the best One UI 6.1 features including Live Translate, Chat Assist, enhanced Android Auto, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Circle to Search, upgraded Nightography capabilities, Galaxy AI editing tools, Edit Suggestion and Instant Slow-mo.

Samsung also confirmed that it will be bringing the Galaxy AI experience to select Galaxy devices by the first half of the year. It’s expected that the One UI 6.1 will first roll out to create the base for AI-powered features, and then the Galaxy AI will arrive on supported models after H2 Unpacked.
