Wearables
Samsung beats Apple in MKBHD’s smartwatch pedometer test but the winner is Google!
Post-Covid 19 period, smartwatches started to gain rapid popularity and became a basic need nowadays. The wearables come with different sensors and technologies to monitor and assess your routine. In a recent pedometer test by MKBHD, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic beat the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
A pedometer is a technology that counts steps completed/walked by the operator. In his test, MKBHD walked 1000 steps, wearing an Apple Watch Ultra 2, Garmin Fenix 7, Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, and Google Pixel Watch 2, as well as carrying a cheap pedometer along.

Surprisingly, Apple’s Watch Ultra 2 managed to detect just 955 steps out of 1000, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic detected 994 steps. Google’s Pixel Watch 2 secured the top spot by recording the most accurate 998 steps out of the 1000 steps-long walk.
You may have been wondering about how the 1000 steps have been determined for the test. An X user asked Marques the same, but the question remained unanswered. Meanwhile, the huge gap in steps detection is adequate to reveal that Samsung’s wearable is far ahead of Apple’s super expensive wearable.
Look I know you weren't wondering, but… somebody had to do it. I walked 1000 steps with all my smartwatches on to see which was most accurate.
The results:
Apple Watch Ultra: 955
Garmin Fenix 7: 964
Samsung Galaxy Watch: 994
Google Pixel Watch: 998
