Samsung is expected to unveil its first ring-formed health tracker later this year. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Ring may not be compatible with Apple iPhone models, just like the Wear OS-powered Galaxy smartwatches.

Recently, Samsung executive Hon Pak revealed the company’s plans to explore the development of noninvasive glucose monitoring and continuous blood pressure checking technologies for future wearables.

Samsung’s Pak pointed out that “like the company’s Galaxy Watches — it probably won’t be compatible with Apple’s iPhone.” This indicates that Samsung will keep its new kind of wearable exclusive to Galaxy, Android.

Smartwatches are quite popular for the time being, but people now want a different way to keep track of their health and wellness data. Hence, Samsung is working on the development of Galaxy Ring, which could arrive later this year.

The Galaxy Ring product is scheduled to be released before the end of 2024 and will come in a range of colors and sizes. The company is eyeing activity and sleep tracking for the ring, with more health features to come later.
