Samsung has recently revealed the Galaxy S24 series and the next Unpacked will bring next-gen foldable phones in the second half. While we are months away from Samsung’s H2 Unpacked, Korean media is reporting that there will be a cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 alongside the Galaxy Z6 series.

According to TheElec, Samsung is thinking about launching a cheaper version of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6. The report indicates that there will be an affordable foldable phone along with the usual models that the company brings to the market every year.

Interestingly, the reason for choosing the Fold line for this move and not the Flip is that the Flips that have launched so far are selling much more. So with a cheaper Fold, the Fold line could be reinvigorated.

If the company decides to release the low-end model of the Z Fold 6 this year, we can expect the launch of three types of foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Fold 6 FE/Lite, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

This is the first time that Samsung is considering developing an entry-level foldable phone model. The launch of an entry-level foldable phone model may hurt Samsung’s profitability.
