3rd party apps will benefit from Android 14’s Ultra HDR feature!
Samsung maintains a close collaboration with prominent platforms in the industry. The new Galaxy S24 series allows you to upload high-quality images/videos on Instagram. Meanwhile, Google is reportedly working to open Android 14’s Ultra HDR feature to 3rd-party apps.
Mishaal Rahman recently revealed that Google is working to bring Android 14’s Ultra HDR feature to CameraX API. This significant change will improve camera quality and provide a richer experience with third-party Android applications.

Thanks to the arrival of Ultra HDR support to CameraX API, Android phones can save images in JPEG_R format. If your device has an HDR screen, the Ultra HDR feature will deliver HDR images, while non-HDR screens will continue to display SDR images.
JPEG_R is a new type of JPEG file that can contain a gainmap in its metadata so that the HDR version of an image can be rendered on HDR displays and the SDR version on SDR displays.
Google is preparing to add Ultra HDR image capture support to the CameraX API.
This will allow apps that utilize the CameraX API to output images in the new JPEG_R format used for Ultra HDR, on devices running Android 14.

While the Galaxy S24 series supports Android 14’s Ultra HDR, third-party applications like Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and WhatsApp will be supported by Samsung shortly. These features include full-frame image capture, HDR, EIS for video stabilization, and multi-frame noise reduction.
Samsung is adding one more Good Lock module to the support list of the One UI 6.1.1, after Theme Park and One Hand Operation +. The Korean tech giant has released a new update for the Samsung MultiStar app to make it compatible with One UI 6.1.1.
Identified via version 7.2.19, the update improves functionality and convenience for users of Samsung devices by introducing new features and enhancements.
A notable addition to the Samsung MultiStar module is the Launcher Widget on the cover screen, specifically optimized for One UI 6.1.1. This widget lets users access essential app functions directly from the cover screen. In addition, the update includes support for app icon badges.

Samsung is expected to launch at least nine sizes of the Galaxy Ring. The largest size will have a larger battery capacity, allowing you to use it for a longer period on a single charge. Potential buyers will have the option to order a Sizing Kit before getting the Ring delivered.
