Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S24 series on January 17 in San Jose, USA. While the official release is set to take place next week, Samsung just revealed that Baidu AI Cloud will be integrating its Ernie chatbot into the Galaxy S24 series for call translation and other AI features.

According to the info, Baidu’s Ernie 4.0 version is the “most powerful version of Ernie foundation model to date,” with the full capabilities of understanding, generation, reasoning, and memory. The company claims Ernie 4.0′s capabilities are as advanced as those of OpenAI’s GPT-4 model.

Notably, Ernie is a ChatGPT rival, which is powered by artificial intelligence technology that’s able to generate humanlike responses to users’ prompts. Samsung’s new phones are integrating it as part of leaving Apple iPhones too behind in generative AI era.

“Now featuring Ernie’s understanding and generation capabilities, the upgraded Samsung Note Assistant can translate content and also summarize lengthy content into clear, intelligently organized formats at the click of a button, streamlining the organization of extensive text,” the firms said (via CNBC) in a statement.
