Microsoft, which had previously surpassed the market cap of $3 trillion during the day, maintained its market cap of $3 trillion until the close of the day, once again surpassing Apple (market cap of $3.022 trillion) to become the most valuable company in the world.

Some industry experts say that investment in artificial intelligence (AI) will determine the fate of Microsoft and Apple. Notably, Microsoft is making rapid investments in OpenAI, which operates ChatGPT and is aggressively applying generative AI to its services.

The Wall Street Journal notes that, “It is evidence that Microsoft, one of the oldest technology companies, is leading the AI ​​revolution, and it means that Microsoft has become a de facto leader in the AI ​​field.”
